Dear Wayne Dental Care Family,

We are excited to announce that we are once again able to provide comfortable dental care for you, our wonderful patients. Wayne Dental Care has reopened on June 8, 2020!

We hope this email finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing at Wayne Dental Care has remained the same: our constant commitment to your safety.

As you have surely seen during your visits to our office, infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our strict processes have consistently made the care you receive at Wayne Dental Care both safe and comfortable.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We continue to closely monitor the recommendations of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

When it is time for your next appointment, you may see some changes along with our already strict infection control protocols.

Some of these updates include:

  • Our office will communicate with you ahead of your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
  • When entering the office, we will ask you to use hand sanitizer which we will supply. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
  • You may see that our reception area will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and other items which cannot be properly disinfected. You are encouraged to bring your own iPad, reading materials, etc.
  • Should you choose, you may wait in your car and be texted when we are ready to bring you directly to the treatment area.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered slightly limited options for scheduling your appointment.
  • We will do our best to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the office at any one time.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 610-293-1227 or visit our website at www.waynedentalcare.com

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends in the safest way possible.

Sincerely,
Dr Handel, Dr Brenner and the Team at Wayne Dental Care

Verena D on Crowns

I had several crowns done by Dr. Handel. Some were necessary because the teeth had worn away and chipped and just needed to be replaced. When I was younger, 30 to 40 years ago, after my first pregnancies, when I had not been very good about seeing a dentist regularly, I had root canals done and crowns, which were not so good. So he had replaced some older crowns and done a good job replacing older crowns as well.

I was very happy with the whole procedure of replacing crowns, older crowns, as well as doing new crowns in my mouth, because Dr. Handel was very thorough from the start, as far as fitting them properly. And he also offered to re-cement them if they came out. And at first we did some temporary cement to be sure they were properly fitted. As I said, once I think he returned a crown because it wasn't the exact shape that we had ordered.

Dr. Handel's office is very flexible and convenient. And when I had an issue where I had popped a crown out eating a piece of gummy candy, I called right away. And they were very accommodating at seeing me the next day. And Dr. Handel himself came to put the crown back in. And he actually was very thorough, more thorough than I thought. He did an X-ray to be sure, before he put it back in, everything was okay in the teeth next to the crown. And he did a great job putting it back in. It's still there.

We use crowns to:

  • Mend cracked or broken teeth
  • Hide stained teeth, misshapen teeth, and other cosmetic imperfections
  • Repair severely decayed teeth
  • Protect a tooth from reinfection following a root canal
  • Replace lost teeth, when used with a dental implant or as part of a dental bridge

To see if a crown or bridge can restore your smile, call 610-227-6143. Remember, we offer a lifetime guarantee for our treatments! You can schedule appointments as early as 8 a.m., so it’s easy to see us before work or school. We offer Friday appointments too.

Enjoy a Natural Look With Porcelain Crowns

The whole process with getting any restorative work as far as something like a crown or something major, you always know up front what's going to happen, what's going on, what it's going to cost, what your portion is, what your insurance will pay. It's always very, very clear. I love that. There are no surprises here. Everything is very up front. For me, I really appreciate that.

With the crowns, they're pretty speedy comparatively. You end up with a temporary on for maybe a week or two, and then the new one comes in. I think they must use the best labs out there because I have never had a problem with a crown. They fit perfectly. There might be a little adjustment that Dr. Handel will do, and then you're out the door, no problems.

Many practices use metal crowns. While they are sometimes covered with a layer of porcelain or other material, you’ll still have a tell-tale dark line at your gums. We use metal-free porcelain crowns. We carefully match them to your other teeth, so they blend in easily with the rest of your smile. Durable, stain-resistant porcelain offers other advantages too. It is:

  • Easier on Your Mouth – Porcelain is less likely to cause gum irritation and/or recession.
  • Easier on the Rest of You Too – Metal crowns are more likely to cause an allergic reaction than porcelain crowns. Metal restorations also expose your body to mercury, a substance found to be potentially dangerous in several studies.

Replace Missing Teeth With a Dental Bridge

A dental bridge can replace one tooth or several adjacent teeth. We create the bridge with lifelike replacement teeth that we attach to crowns on either side of the gap in your smile. To avoid the need to drill into healthy teeth, we can anchor the bridge to dental implants. Whether your bridge is supported by your own teeth or by implants, you won’t need to remove it for cleaning.

For dental crowns and bridges in Wayne, call 610-227-6143.
